The Edmonton Oilers did not look good in their three-game series against the Toronto Maple Leafs, losing all three games and getting outscored 13-1. Head coach Dave Tippett is attempting to right the ship before Saturday night's tilt against the Calgary Flames but was not impressed at all with what he saw from his team during practice Friday. Tippett told everyone to stop what they were doing and went on a profanity-laced tirade on the way they were playing.

Ryan Rishuag, who was in attendance at the practice, wrote out a nice transcription of the main message Tippett was attempting to get across. Rishaug said he would not include the profanity, but noted it was every third word or so.

"Toronto jammed this whole thing up and we spent the whole game in our end. Do things right, do it together, and execute" said Tippett.

"That's how you get better, that's how we become a better team," he continued. "Play with confidence, do what you're supposed to do with five guys on the ice."

According to Rishaug, Tippett became agitated after noticing that players were "not fighting through checks and battling." He added the tirade seemed to snap them to attention and the team started doing what the coach wanted.

Ultimately, Tippett was doing his job here and making sure his players were not slacking off. It seems like he knows how to get their attention, which is a good thing. Let's see now it translates over to the next game. According to Rishaug, Tippett seemed to relax a bit after his rant.
