Golf legend Tiger Woods was injured Tuesday in a car accident that caused his vehicle to rollover in Los Angeles County.

"Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries," his agent Mark Steinberg said. "He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."

The Jaws of Life tools had to be used to remove Woods from the vehicle. The car also sustained plenty of damage, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

When a KABC-TV helicopter flew over the scene of the crash, Woods' car appeared on its side with lots of damage to the front of the car. Airbags were deployed, and the accident occurred near the side of a road on a hillside.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle and the crash occurred Tuesday morning around 7:15 a.m., officials said.

There are reports that Woods has broken both of his legs but that has yet to be confirmed.
