The Oilers have been making big moves to strengthen their lineup as the March 8th trade deadline closes in rapidly. However, one power player has been in trade deal talks after causing trouble for the team outside of regular game events.

Evander Kane Causes Problems For Edmonton

By now, it is no secret that Evander Kane has a history as a strong player on the ice. This 32-year-old left-winger has 21 goals and 15 assists in 59 games this season. However, it has been reported that Kane has been more harmful to the team than helpful.

Kane has been talked about for the last couple of months for causing rifts in Edmonton. According to sources closer to the team, Kane has been a huge problem for Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, both of whom are absolutely invaluable to the team.

"Something to keep an eye on as the trade deadline approachesthe situation with Evander Kane & the #LetsGoOilers has not gone so smoothly this year.

Connor McDavid & Evander Kane have unfollowed each other on IG.

Where does this all go? We shall see but it doesn't look great for Kane yet again. They differently need him for a playoff run if the plan is Cup or bust."

Oilers Potentially Looking To Trade Kane For Team Unity

Aside from causing issues with some of his top teammates, he has shown a considerable amount of disrespect to team leadership. He has been prioritizing trying to improve his place in Edmonton, but he does so by skipping practice and being an all-around bully instead of playing better.

"Kane has been late to practice in recent events, he's also missed practices a number of times. He's gotten into on the bench with Leon Draisaitl as well. Kane hasn't been happy with the lack of top 6 TOI. The list of problems has bothered the team. Kane is building a new house in EDM though but the situation with him staying in EDM is not looking good long term. Stay tuned in the offseason"

With the inability to show up for practice, gel with teammates, and simply not be a pain to work with, it is hard to imagine Edmonton wanting to keep him on board unless he cleans up his act. Yet, with the trade deadline less than two days away, it may be too little too late as the Oilers try to acquire a star defenseman. This will certainly be a trade deal to look out for.
