A high school hockey player from Massachusetts was given a year-long suspension for a minor incident that happened during a game.

Braden Knapp of Nantucket Whalers Gets a Full Season Suspension For Shooting the Puck Towards a Scrum

Braden Knapp found himself in the middle of a controversy a few weeks ago. He shot the puck straight towards a scrum that was going down in the middle of the ice.

Check it out:

After being removed from the game, the league decided to suspend him for a year for what they called "violent ****** on an official", even though there was no evidence that an official was actually struck by the puck.

"The refs issued a disqualification penalty for 'violent ***** of an official' although all indications given to the Current at this time have been that no official was hit." - Nantucket Current

Knapp, who is the best scorer on his team, has appealed the suspension. He claims he was just trying to divert attention from the fight and didn't intend to hurt anyone.
