On Wednesday, the top two teams in the Scotia North Division will battle, as the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Montreal Canadiens. It'll be the first of three meetings between the Original Six rivals over the next week and a half.

They opened the 2020-21 season against each other back on January 13th where the Maple Leafs won 5-4 in overtime. After the game, Habs forward Josh Anderson said multiple times "We were the better team out there."

Brendan Gallagher had some interesting things to say about the rivalry, and discussed the upcoming games against Toronto.

"You're not going to like this answer, but I could really care less about what the Leafs are doing." Gallagher said. "They're a very good team. They got their own storyline that they're following."

"For us, it's just about playing our game. Obviously, we were disappointed we lost the first game to them. Now it's a chance to get a little revenge in that aspect."

"It's going to be competitive and emotional," Gallagher said about the rivalry. "But if you don't enjoy it, I guess you're playing the wrong sport."

The Canadiens and Maple Leafs will face each other in Montreal on Wednesday night, and then battle again on Saturday night in Toronto.

Toronto currently sits first in the Scotia North Division with a record of 10-2-1 through 13 games, while Montreal sits second with a record of 8-2-2 through 12 games.
