Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Brent Seabrook hasn't suited up for a game in over a year as a result of injuries, and multiple different surgeries to fix his right shoulder, and both hips.

Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman said that they're quite concerned by his lingering back injury that he tweaked in late December, just before the start of training camp.

"We're very concerned for him," general manager Stan Bowman said, according to The Chicago Sun Times' Ben Pope. "He's been a warrior for us. Think of his time in Chicago - he never really missed any games. But now we're realizing he was playing through a lot of pain those years, and it's caught up to him."

"He was dealing with his shoulders and his hips to the point where he probably should have had (the surgeries) done years ago, but that's how he's always been driven - to keep moving forward, don't worry about injuries, play through it."

Seabrook, 35, was drafted in the first round, 14th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. In 1114 regular season games, he's tallied 464 points (103 G, 361 A), 661 penalty minutes, and is a +111. In 123 career playoff games, Seabrook has 59 points (20 G, 39 A), 83 penalty minutes, and is a +8.

Seabrook has won the Stanley Cup three times with Chicago in 2010, 2013, and 2015.
