The Vancouver Canucks' struggles early on this season have been well documented, but when winger J.T. Miller hung his goaltender, Braden Holtby out to dry on Saturday night in a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs, we caught a brief glimpse of the unrest that exists within the Canucks' locker room in the form of a glare of disbelief and animosity by the frustrated goaltender, followed by a bit of a verbal exchange.

The altercation came after Miller seemingly just quit on a back-check, leaving Holtby to fend for himself against an unimpeded Auston Matthews.

If there was a list of guys that you simply do not want on a clear break against your goalie, let's be honest.. Matthews would be near the top of that list, right along with Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid.

On Monday, Miller broke his silence regarding the play, not only accepting the blame for the goal, but also supporting Holtby's reaction to it, despite being the target of Holtby's frustration.

"A lot of that goal happens because I'm not moving my feet," Miller told the media on Monday. "There's nothing wrong with holding your teammates accountable."

It's pretty big of Miller to have acknowledged that he was in the wrong by quitting on the play and letting it be known publicly that Holtby had every right to call him out for it.

As a typically competitive guy, I think we can expect that Miller will come out with a chip on his shoulder Monday night in Toronto as the Canucks look to avoid a 3-0 series sweep at the hands of the Leafs.
