If you watched any of the most recent World Junior Hockey Championships, you are likely familiar with Trevor Zegras. The 19-year-old ninth overall pick of the Anaheim Ducks was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after racking up a whopping 18 points (7G, 11A) in just 11 games with Team USA. Zegras is now playing for the San Diego Gulls of the AHL and is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down with five points in just two games.

Saturday night, the Gulls took on the Bakersfield Condors for the second night in a row and earned their second straight win with a 4-3 victory. Zegras would add an assist on a goal by San Carrick in the second period to bring his point total to five in two games. But it was the way he did it that was impressive. Zegras parked himself behind the Bakersfield net and faked the Michigan move in order to draw in the defence and open up the passing lane to make the perfect pass out front. Check it out:

It seems the Ducks, who are in the midst of a rebuild, are content to let Zegras develop in the AHL for at least this season before bringing him up to the big leagues, and that's certainly not the worst idea. Anaheim will struggle to make the playoffs this season but have some good assets in the wings (no pun intended) that should make the team better over the next few years. Zegras will certainly be a huge part of that.
