The organization suspended Savoie with the intention of terminating his contract, after Savoie expressed his desires to go back to school.

"The @AmerksHockey have suspended defenseman Nicolas Savoie with the intention of terminating his American Hockey League contract at the request of Savoie to pursue educational opportunities."

It seems like Savoie already has a deal in place to join the New Brunswick University, where he'll play during the 2024-25 season. This means that he'll likely sit out on the rest of the current season.

"Hearing that the UNB Reds have a commitment in place to add defenceman Nicolas Savoie for next season.

He played 21 ECHL games this season, and had a four game callup for the AHL's Rochester Americans." Steiner said.

Savoie will be remembered for his participation in the 2023 Memorial Cup run of the Quebec Remparts.

More to come.
