The Arizona Coyotes are in danger of relocating and a top insider has predicted where to and when they will do so.
Seravalli Predicts Arizona To Houston
In a recent article for Daily Faceoff, insider Frank Seravalli revealed 32 different bold predictions for the upcoming season. While many are quite hot takes, one prediction holds more significance than the others.
"Stop us if you've heard this before: The NHL will announce in April that the Arizona Coyotes are relocating to Houston for the 2024-25 season. Commissioner Gary Bettman seemed to signal February is a looming deadline for the Coyotes to announce arena plans. They can't stay at Mullett Arena forever, and Houston just upgraded its ice plant in Toyota Center as part of a $30 million renovation. Phoenix will then rise to the top of expansion possibilities – as there is no doubt the NHL loves a market that needs a fresh start." - Frank Seravalli
In April Seravalli believes we will find out that the Coyotes will be relocating to Houston!
Houston would be the second team in Texas which is quite a large market that has worked well for multiple sports leagues with two teams playing there. The NFL has the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans and the NBA has the Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets.
It is likely Gary Bettman is watching this success and can't help but think of what it will do for the NHL. If Seravalli is right, we will see a massive relocation that will shift the outlook of the NHL.
Only time will tell if he is right but as of now, the Coyotes will look to stay in Arizona and will work tirelessly over the coming months to not relocate.
