The Vegas Golden Knights have reportedly placed one of their top young goaltenders on the trade market.

Golden Knights Place Top Goaltender On The Trade Market

Last season, the Golden Knights had a plethora of NHL talent in net. Eventually, their number one was Adin Hill who backstopped them to a Stanley Cup which was quite encouraging for their future in net and they ensured to lock down Hill for the coming years.

With this commitment to Hill, they made it clear he is their number one going forward and that kicks another top-tier goaltender to the curb and one who is now confirmed to be on the trade block.

They have both been quiet for a few weeks, but with September coming this week both are looking to upgrade still with a 1/1A keeperLogan Thompson is available, but will cost you. I would do it thoughI think the Knights are nuts for not making this guy their future.

Future Star In Net?

At only 25 years old, Thompson was the Golden Knights' number-one goaltender when healthy. He impressed as well posting a 2.65 GAA and a .915 sv%.

Thompson was originally undrafted but has worked his way up from the ECHL through the AHL and is now an NHL regular and looking to remain a starter. He makes far less than what he is worth at only $766,667 which is currently less than the league minimum.

If traded to another team, the Sabres or the Devils, Thompson could emerge as their number one and help them to many successful years. While the Devils and the Sabres both have young goaltenders for the future, Akira Schmid and Devon Levi respectively, could use some help right now. Thompson could emerge as a 1A goaltender, and the youngsters could be 1 B goaltenders for the next few seasons.

As seen on HockeyBuzz.com - Sabres and Devils BOTH still with hopes of a goalie.
