Two time Stanley Cup champion Matt Murray is no longer a member of the PIttsburgh Penguins. The goaltender has been traded to the Ottawa Senators for forward Jonathan Gruden and a 2020 second-round draft pick (52nd overall).

Murray is currently a restricted free agent so Ottawa will need to sign him to a new deal. Penguins GM Jim Rutherford made it clear that he wasn't going to start next season with both Murray and fellow goaltender Tristen Jarry in the fold. Jarry was recently signed to a new three-year deal.

Ottawa GM Pierre Dorion told reporters following the draft Tuesday night that netminder Anders Nilsson is still showing symptoms of a concussion he suffered late in 2019. His last game was December 16th against the Florida Panthers. He was placed on injured reserve after that and hasn't played since. That left Ottawa with 25-year-old Marcus Hogberg, who has a total of 28 games' experience in the NHL. Veteran goaltender Craig Anderson was told by the Sens that he would not be re-signed.
