The Arizona Coyotes will be bringing back another special item from their past to pair with their fan favorite Kachina uniforms.

The Coyotes announced on Tuesday that they will be putting a crescent moon at center ice at Gila River Arena for 2020-2021 to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

The Coyotes changed their uniform, logo, and colors back when they moved to Glendale in 2003, but they did bring back their original black jerseys to use as an alternate starting in 2018. They also announced that they would be wearing their infamous Kachina jerseys for 25 home games in 2021, after wearing them for all of their “home” playoff games in the bubble.

The significance behind the crescent moon is that it was a signature part of the Coyote's early history, which was established in 1996. Another aspect will be added to the Coyotes this season along with the jerseys and center ice crescent, as they also released two 25th anniversary patches that will be worn on the upper right chest of their jerseys.

"We are incredibly proud to celebrate 25 years in the Valley of the Sun," Coyotes owner Alex Merulo said. "We are thrilled to honor our past this season and pay tribute to those players who provided our tremendous fans with so many great memories."
