DeBrincat's season was alright. He tallied 66 points, which is a bit disappointing considering he had a 40-goal season last year.

After one season in Ottawa, the sniper will become an RFA. If he decides not to stay with the Senators, it wouldn't be surprising to see him involved in a trade.

One team stands out as a potential destination for him.

The Washington Capitals got rid of many key players at the last deadline. However, they have also managed to acquire the promising Rasmus Sandin.

They are not far from the path to victory. Bringing in a guy like DeBrincat would make a lot of sense. Just imagine the powerplay unit with him and Ovechkin. They would be unstoppable.

A Trade Scenario

A trade possibility was suggested by reporter Sammi Silber.

To Washington
- Alex DeBrincat

To Ottawa
- Evgeny Kuznetsov OR Anthony Mantha
- Connor McMichael
- 2025 2nd-round pick (the highest of the three Washington has)
