With it looking like the Washington Capitals will be retooling as opposed to rebuilding, they could potentially be targeting a sniper from Ottawa.

Washington Capitals May Target 40-Goal Winger in the Off-Season

Alex DeBrincat has had a rather disappointing first season in Ottawa. Scoring only 27 goals and 66 points in his first season in Ottawa, there has been speculation on whether or not he would be resigning with the Senators.

Now there are rumors that he will be moving from one nation's capital to another with the Washington Capitals looking to acquire him if he refuses to sign with the senators.

This could be a huge trade this offseason with the Capitals reportedly wanting to part ways with Evgeny Kuznetsov who also had a lackluster season.

This could even be a 1 for 1 trade which would be huge for both teams because they could get a star who is looking for a fresh start and they would both be filling holes on their current rosters.
