With a game potentially one the line, this official was making sure he got the call right no matter what. In the third game of the best of 7 second round playoff series between the KHL's Admiral Vladivostok and Ak Bars Kazan, the score was tied 0-0 more than halfway through the third period. That meant the next goal was likely to be a big one. With one of the teams pressing at the goal line and trying to stuff the puck in, a referee jumped onto the net to ensure he had a good view of the goal line. No one scored on the play.
Admiral ended up winning the game 1-0 in overtime to decrease Ak Bars series lead to 2-1.
