According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, the Detroit Red Wings have traded forward Tyler Bertuzzi to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a 2024 (protected) first-round pick and a 2025 fourth-round pick.

Per Boston's official release, the 2024 first-round pick they're sending to Detroit is top-ten protected and the Red Wings are retaining 50% of Bertuzzi's salary.

Bertuzzi, 28, is in the final year of his contract, which carries an AAV of $4.75 million. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. Contract talks between Bertuzzi, his camp and the Red Wings have reportedly been non-existent, which led to today's deal.

The Sudbury (Ontario) native has been limited to only 29 games this season due to injuries. In those 29 games, he's put up 14 points (four goals, ten assists), 23 penalty minutes and is a minus-12.
