The Detroit Red Wings busy afternoon continued on Wednesday as they announced that they've traded defenceman Filip Hronek and a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft to the Vancouver Canucks.

In exchange, the Red Wings have acquired a 2023 first-round pick and a 2023 second-round pick. The first-round pick they've added is originally from the Islanders in the Bo Horvat trade and it could transfer to the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, as it is top-12 protected.

Hronek, 25, has been one of Detroit's best offensive defenceman over the last couple of seasons and has recorded over 30 points in three of his five seasons in the National Hockey League.

In 60 games this season, the Hradec Kralove (Czechia) native has 38 points (nine goals, 29 assists), 34 penalty minutes and is a plus-eight.
