After several days of inactivity, the waiver wire came into play on Monday afternoon. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Nashville Predators have placed forward Mark Jankowski on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the American Hockey League.

Jankowski, 28, was signed by the Predators in July to a one-year contract worth $750,000. So far this season, the former Calgary Flames first-rounder has appeared in 26 games with Nashville, recording seven points (four goals, three assists), ten penalty minutes and is a plus-four.

If Jankowski clears waivers on Tuesday afternoon, he'll be assigned to the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals, where he's already played this season and has performed quite well for. In seven games for the Admirals, the Hamilton (Ontario) native has nine points.
