Patrick Kane had a monster night on Sunday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Kane scored a hat-trick and an assist in Chicago's 5-3 win over the Leafs. But in typical Patrick Kane fashion, he rubbed a little salt in the wound when he said the trade rumors around him and Toronto were unfounded and untrue.

This season has not been an easy one for Kane, though. On top of the rumor mill going non-stop since the summer, the future Hall of Famer has dealt with his share of personal baggage as well.

A nagging hip injury, a serious decline in scoring, watching his longtime friend Jonathan Toews battle chronic immune response syndrome, and seeing other friends in Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach get shipped out. All in all, this season has had its share of difficulties.

His monster night on Sunday, however, was a welcomed episode of positivity, though. On top of his dominant performance, Blackhawks fans showered Kane with a thunderous ovation in what could be one of his last games as a Hawk.

With the NHL's March 3rd Trade Deadline quickly approaching, the likelihood that Kane is moved seemingly gets higher each day. The ball is in his court with a full no-move clause, so he has control over the situation.

We could very well see him choose a new team in the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, but if a trade presents itself, why not?
