It's been just over a week since the Arizona Coyotes first scratched defenceman Jakob Chychrun for trade-related reasons and a move has yet to materialize.

Among the teams that have shown interest in the 24-year-old are the Boston Bruins and Los Angeles Kings, but according to Sportsnet's Jeff Marek, the St. Louis Blues can be added to that list as they've been attached to him dating back to last year. Marek says that now that they have the assets to do, from trading Vladimir Tarasenko and Ryan O'Reilly, that they could possibly jump in on the Chychrun sweepstakes, if they're not already in there.

"Going back to last year, one of the teams we heard and one of the teams that were attached to Jakob Chychrun were the St. Louis Blues. They have the assets to do this and we know Arizona does not want to take on a whole lot of money, if any at all". Marek said.

He added, "I wonder if the St. Louis Blues jump into this thing or maybe they already have."

Elliotte Friedman chimed in and said that St. Louis makes perfect sense as a landing spot for Jakob Chychrun, especially if they are able to move on of their defenceman within the next ten days or so.

Chychrun, a native of Boca Raton (Florida), has two years remaining on his contract beyond this season, with a cap hit of $4.6 million. But starting on July 1st, his modified no-trade clause kicks in, which includes a ten-team no-trade list. Moving Chychrun before he has a say in his destination is a must for the Arizona Coyotes, especially if they want to maximize the return they can get.

In 36 games this season, Chychrun has 28 points (seven goals, 21 assists), 22 penalty minutes and is a plus-eight.
