In late-2020, the National Hockey League and Adidas announced and subsequently released the first edition of the Reverse Retro jerseys. For theirs, the Minnesota Wild went with a white uniform with their current logo but in the colour scheme of the Minnesota North Stars.

Flash forward to 2022, the NHL and Adidas revealed the second edition of the Reverse Retros, the Wild went with a green version of their first RR uniform. The reception the jerseys have gotten around the NHL and from fans has been remarkable and according to ESPN's Kevin Weekes, the Wild may be going with the North Stars colours full-time.

"**Keep an eye 👁️ on** Just my hunch, and not confirmed- but I have a feeling the the @mnwild will return to their North Stars kit setup full time (as they should). Undeniably these are some of the best in sports 🔥." Weekes said in a tweet on Sunday.

It remains unclear if Weekes is meaning the team will completely rebrand to the North Stars colours for home and away uniforms, or if they'll simply keep their current reverse retro as a third jersey starting next season.

Before relocating to Dallas, the North Stars wore the famous green-gold-white colour scheme from 1967 to 1991, with the jersey designs changing throughout the years. The first Reverse Retro worn by the Wild was inspired by the white uniform the North Stars donned from 1978 to 1981, while the green version was inspired by the ones worn from 1978 to 1988.
