Bruce Cassidy has developed a reputation of being a hard-nosed, demanding coach. Several Boston Bruins players have spoken out about the fact - not to bash Cassidy or anything. Rather, explaining how his brand of coaching wears on players.

Cassidy's style was so tense, that Boston's 2015 14th overall pick Jake DeBrusk requested a trade out of the organization, only to be rescinded upon Cassidy's dismissal. It turns out, the Bruins' locker room wasn't the only one in which the Vegas Golden Knights' head coach ruffled players' feathers.

10-year NHL veteran Andrei Nikolishin was candid about his short time with Cassidy. The two had a brief overlap in 2002-03 with the Washington Capitals.

On Cassidy, Nikolishin said:

"I crossed paths with him, so I can tell you what kind of person he is. I think he is a rather envious and dishonest coach.

The team is really tired of his approach. He reminds me somewhat of Ron Wilson, who was a classy coach. That's the most tactically savvy coach I've ever seen. But as a human being, he was a weirdo."

Nikolishin last played in the NHL in the 2003-04 season when he played 49 games for the Colorado Avalanche. He scored 12 points and managed 2 points in 11 playoff games.

He scored 280 career points in 628 games across four teams before playing the final eight seasons of his career in the KHL.
