Back in November, Boston Bruins play-by-play commentator Jack Edwards made headlines for suspect remarks about Tampa Bay Lightning forward Pat Maroon. Edwards spent about forty seconds poking fun at Maroon's weight - on a live NHL broadcast, mind you.

Maroon admitted that Edwards' behavior disturbed him, but rather than seek retribution, the Lightning forward opted to take the high road. Maroon launched a donation campaign to Tampa Bay Thrives, a local charity which assists those struggling from addiction and various mental health issues.

According to Lighting Insider Erik Erlendsson, ahead of Thursday's matchup between Tampa Bay and Boston - the first matchup since the aforementioned incident - Edwards sought out Maroon for an apology.

"It's not exactly going well for Edwards," Erlendsson writes.

Fairly unsurprising. Why would Maroon be at all gracious towards Edwards, who belligerently taunted the three-time Stanley Cup champion in front of thousands of people?

Maroon has nothing tangible to gain for accepting Edwards' apology, especially with the way it was delivered. In front of cameras and Maroon's teammates? Bush league.

Erlendsson continued: "As this was a private conversation, even in a public setting, it's not my place to share exactly what was said unless either party wishes to reveal, but I will say it's evident Maroon is still displeased with the situation."

Boston (38-5-4) faces off in Tampa Bay (30-15-1) at 7pm EST on Thursday night. One has to imagine Maroon is fired up for this one...
