Another Habs Youngster Joins Slafkovsky on the Injured List for Rest of Season
The Montréal Canadiens announced early on Saturday that forward Cole Caufield will miss the remainder of the regular season due to a shoulder injury. He will under go surgery in the near future.
Caufield has posted 26 goals, 10 assists and just 2 PIMs in the 2022-23 season. He joins 2022 1st overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky on the sidelines for the remainder of the season, which is either good or bad for the Habs depending on where one stands on the tanking discussion.
Under Martin St. Louis, Cole Caufield has had incredible success compared to his tenure under former head coach Dominique Ducharme. Under St. Louis' tutelage, the 22-year old has 48 goals in 82 games and is playing with a noticeable gravitas that was not there before St. Louis' arrival.
