1. Brock Boeser to Minnesota
A homecoming story that only a Hallmark movie could capture, Brock Boeser returning to his home state, the State of Hockey.
The Wild have been connected to Boeser over the past couple of seasons, and adding Boeser would bolster their offense. Currently they sit in the bottom half of the NHL in goals, and they could use another player to compliment Matthew Boldy on the second line.
It seems like a possible deal would be something involving Mathew Dumba for the scoring forward, especially with Dumba being scratched over the past couple of games.
2. Bo Horvat to the Canes
With Max Pacioretty suffering a season-ending Achilles tear for the second year in a row, a forward spot in the lineup has just opened up.
The cost to acquire Horvat would be high, but acquiring the centreman would bolster their lineup. A line of Andre Svechnikov-Bo Horvat-Martin Necas would be something from a video game, and would leave other teams finding it difficult to find good matchups.
3. Ilya Mikheyev to Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay Lightning are pretty much set with their lineup across the board, but adding another top-nine forward definitely would not hurt anything either.
Mikheyev is another forward that would help with frustrating opponents, and would only help for another deep playoff run.
4. Thatcher Demko to LA Kings
The Kings are having another solid start to the season, and are looking good across their lineup, minus one huge hole. Their goaltending.
Thatcher Demko would fill that spot in their lineup, especially after Cal Peterson was sent down to the AHL. Johnathan Quick also is not getting any younger, so finding an alternate solution in net would be a great idea. The Kings have the picks and prospects to make a deal, but whether or not they make a deal this aggressive is yet to be found out.
5. Quinn Hughes to....Montreal
Adding Quinn Hughes to an already exciting, young defensive group including Kaiden Guhle, Justin Barron, and Jordan Harris would set the Habs up to be the next New Jersey Devils or Buffalo Sabres. Imagine Hughes setting up Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, or Juraj Slafkovsky. This would be a dream for Habs fans, but the asking price would no-doubtedly be steep.
The Canadiens, in theory, could pull the trade off with the stock-piled picks from other trades and prospects. This would be a huge deal on both sides, and even though it is unlikely, it would shake up the NHL for years to come.
