Absolutely brutal...

After scoring three goals in five games since returning from an Achilles' tendon injury which kept him out for ~5 months, Max Pacioretty collapsed to the ground after an apparent revival of the injury. You just hate to see it.

According to head coach Rod Brind'Amour, the injury 'doesn't look good.'

"It doesn't look good. I mean, we don't know, but it doesn't look good," Brind'Amour said after the game. "Hopefully, it's not as bad as we think, but I am not too optimistic right now."

That absolutely SUCKS

for Pacioretty and the Hurricanes. Carolina was literally paid to take him, so in that sense it's not like they forked up a ton to acquire him THEN he fell to injury.

But in a more human sense, this is just awful for Max Pacioretty. He had such a promising career going, and for it to possibly be cut short this way is just the worst. Hopefully, he is able to get himself patched up (no pun intended) and back on the ice.
