Bruce Boudreau's tenure with the Canucks is spiraling towards a conclusion, and it's impossible not to feel for the guy. The roster isn't very good, management hasn't done a great job managing the salary cap, and there is a ridiculous amount of drama within that hockey club.

Rick Tocchet's name has swirled around as the next head coach of the Canucks, and Elliotte Friedman said on the most recent 32 Thoughts Podcast that the Canucks have 'basically made a hire,' despite the fact that Boudreau is still behind the bench.

Boudreau recently addressed the rumors that he would be fired, and the general response from fans has been supportive. The Canucks organization has some major problems to sort out between now and next season, and the odds that a new coach fixes them are slim-to-none.

Friedman also mentioned that Sergei Gonchar could be brought in to work with Vancouver's defense corps, but it is unclear in what capacity.
