According to former NHL referee Tim Peel, Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane will return to game action on Tuesday against the Seattle Kraken.

Kane, 31, hasn't played since having his wrist sliced by the skate of Tampa Bay Lightning's Patrick Maroon in a game back in early November. Originally, he was expected to be out of the lineup until February, but has said to have been progressing quicker than originally thought.

This update shouldn't be taken as gospel, as no noteworthy insiders have reported on Kane's return just yet. That said, Peel is a personal friend of Kane's, and was the first to report his signing with the Oilers during the 2021-22 season, as well as his extension this past offseason. If Peel is indeed correct in this, it would be huge for an Oilers team who is looking to gain traction on the Kraken for third place in the Pacific Division.
