Mitch Marner Makes Amazing Gesture to Fan Diagnosed with Cancer
The Toronto Maple Leafs receive tons of media coverage, most of which is negative and/or critical. On one hand, I get it.
The Maple Leafs have little to show for all the hype around the team, but it's been an especially heartbreaking decade for the NHL's most popular team. On the other hand, it's just a game.
And some things are bigger than the game. Enter Auntie Laura...
One fan posted on her Instagram that her aunt was recently diagnosed with cancer. Apparently, Marner learned about it and sent Auntie Laura a signed Hockey Fights Cancer Leafs jersey.
This is my auntie Laura, she recently found out she has cancer. She is a big [Maple Leafs] fan and her favorite player is [Mitch Marner]. She is going to wear her Maple Leafs gear and her Mitch Marner jersey to all her treatments. Well Mitch found out about it and look, he sent her a signed jersey and a video from [The Marner Assist Foundation] for Christmas to say he was cheering her on just like she cheers him and his teammates on!! Her nephew Zach arranged all of this!!
