The Toronto Maple Leafs placed forward Nick Robertson (shoulder) and defenseman Victor Mete (lower-body) on long-term injured reserve on Tuesday. Collectively, the Leafs will see approximately $1.5 million in cap savings as a result.

Mete and Robertson join Morgan Reilly and Jake Muzzin on the LTIR list, as well as Jordie Benn and T.J. Brodie, who are both on the shelf. Robertson is expected to miss 6-8 weeks, while Mete will miss 'some time,' according to head coach Sheldon Keefe.

Robertson's injury was sustained during the Leafs' game against the L.A. Kings on December 8th:

Mete was injured on December 6th in Toronto's game against the Dallas Stars. He was visibly struggling to put any pressure on one of his legs after a hit from Stars defenseman Jani Hakanpää.
