Team Canada lost its opening game against Czechia, causing concern over the group's fate in the early phase of the World Junior Championship tournament. The part that is concerning for Canadians - aside from the obvious - is the team's mannerisms in their defeat.

The team tried and failed two different lacrosse-goal attempts and just had an air of smugness despite trailing early on. A five-minute powerplay for the Czechs didn't help, but Canada could never get their grip on the game. Captain Shane Wright has much of the focus on him, as he is the de facto leader of this group.

After the game, Wright said: "We're disappointed. We didn't play up to our standards that we know we can. They came out hard and they played us well. They're the better team tonight. They deserve to win...But we've got to learn from this, got to move on from it. The gold medal is not won tonight...We've got to respect our opponent a little more. We've got to make sure that we come in every single game ready to fight. We're going to get every team's best and every team wants to beat Canada."

Canada is back in action on Wednesday when they take on Team Germany, so the expectation of a strong bounce-back game is alive and well. Wright is sort of under the microscope in this tournament, as his professional career has been rife with drama to start.

If Canada doesn't live up to the hype in this tournament, Wright will undoubtedly wear that burden as the team's captain.
