Vancouver Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini is reportedly facing a string of abuse allegations from his ex-wife and their three children, per a report from Keith Fraser of The Province.

Per Fraser, the two sides have been estranged since the couple's divorce in 2013, and Aquilini paid child support until September of 2021. However payments stopped over a dispute.

The children requested that their information not be shared with their father, and they have not had contact since the separation nine years ago. All three children are currently in university.

They described abuse and inappropriate conduct, including incidents of physical and psychological abuse. One alleged incident suggests Aquilini beat one of his sleeping children and continued once they woke up. One of the kids claims Aquilini forcibly threw a five-year-old to the other side of a room. A third allegation involves him socking a child in the stomach, causing them to cry.

The Canucks owner has released a statement categorically denying the accusations, saying Aquilini is 'outraged' at the notion proposed by his estranged wife.

«It is unfortunate that allegations without merit are brought forward for a collateral purpose. He will have nothing further to say at this time as the matter is before the courts.»

The NHL has yet to release a statement on this report. While the NBA is in the middle of a scandal with one of its owners, the NHL will surely want to be on the front-end of any major news-bombs.

More details will likely be made public over the coming weeks and months.
