Zdeno Chara's career is currently suspended between retirement and playing another season. The 45-year old could retire tomorrow and be a shoe-in for the Hockey Hall of Fame, but he clearly has something else driving him. Is it another Cup? Is it the doom & gloom of retirement? Perhaps he just wants to squeeze every juice out of his abnormally large body that he can. Nevertheless, it is clear that he still has the itch to play.

The other day, The Athletic's Arthur Staple reported that Chara was drawing interest from the New York Rangers. Today, Chara was spotted training at the Boston Bruins' Warrior Ice Arena, where the team practices. Bruins' writer Matt Porter reports that while Chara was training there, he is simply visiting some old friends and the organization has no deal in place.

Sure, the Boston Bruins -- who are in a 'last dance' type of season -- have absolutely no interest in signing Chara to a veteran-minimum deal and spending likely his last season with Boston. Surely, they have nothing in the works there.

If Chara were to return, few teams make as much sense as Boston. With 1,880 NHL games under his belt, what is another season with some of his best friends? My money is on him signing in Boston or retiring. Book it.
