As per Capfriendly, three players in Christopher Gibson, Nate Thompson and Daniel Sprong have agreed to PTO's (Professional Tryout Offers) for training camps later this month.

Gibson's PTO comes with the Arizona Coyotes, a team who could benefit from adding him as a third string netminder given their inexperience in that department. The 29-year-old spent the 2021-22 season in the American Hockey League with the Charlotte Checkers, recording a 2.80 goals against average (GAA) along with a .907 save percentage (SV%). He has played in a combined 16 NHL games split between the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning, compiling a 3.33 GAA and a .901 SV% during that time.

As for Thompson, his PTO is with the L.A. Kings, a team he spent parts of two seasons with between 2017 and 2019. While the 37-year-old has never been a point producer, he is evidently on his last legs as an NHLer, proven by his 2021-22 stat line of a goal and three points in 33 games with the Philadelphia Flyers. That said, his veteran leadership could be of intrigue to the Kings coaching staff, as he has suited up for a very impressive 844 games in his career.

Last but not least is Sprong, who signed a PTO with the Seattle Kraken. The 25-year-old was traded to the Kraken from the Washington Capitals at last years trade deadline in exchange for Marcus Johansson. He finished the season out rather strong with his new squad, registering six goals in 16 outings. That offense shouldn't be expected to continue, however, as he has just 46 goals and 70 points in 202 career games.
