The Colorado Avalanche have announced that they've re-signed forward Shane Bowers to a one-year contract for the 2022-23 season. According to CapFriendly, the contract is worth $750,000.

Bowers, 23, was originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the first round (28th overall) in 2017. Several months after the draft, Bowers was traded to Colorado in a massive deal that saw Matt Duchene head the other way back to Ottawa.

The Halifax native has spent the last three seasons in the American Hockey League with the Colorado Eagles. In 37 games during the 2021-22 season, Bowers had nine points (six goals, three assists), twelve penalty minutes and was a minus-eight. He went on to add four points in four games during the Calder Cup Playoffs.
