Magnus Hellberg signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Seattle Kraken this summer and is expected to suit up for the Coachella Valley Firebirds in 2022-23 as Seattle's 4th or 5th goalie on their depth chart. Behind Phillip Grubauer, Chris Driedger and Martin Jones, Hellberg has a ways to go before cracking the Kraken's lineup, but that didn't stop him from going all-out on a fresh set of pads inspired by the club's likeness:

Hellberg, 31, has appeared in five NHL games sporting a 2.81 GAA and .869 SV%, but he is undefeated in those games. Officially recording a perfect 2-0 record. Impressive stuff.

Hellberg will man the Firebirds' net with fellow netminder Joey Daccord. Under Dan Bylsma in their first season, Coachella Valley sports a strong goaltending tandem, which was clearly a focal point for Seattle GM Ron Francis. Seeing the arid goaltending market, Francis stockpiled at the position and could seek to flip one of his goaltenders as the season progresses, depending on who is willing to pay what. The Kraken could field a much stronger group in 2022-23, but if not they have lots of assets to flip with an amazing core of players to boot, centered around Matty Beniers and Shane Wright. Undoubtedly, they will be an interesting team to watch in 2022-23.
