Vegas Golden Knights forward Nolan Patrick has had an injury plagued career since he entered the NHL in 2017. It's a sad story, the 23-year-old has suffered multiple concussions, along with other injuries that have caused him to miss a lot of time, including the entire 2019-20 season.

The Winnipeg native was dealt to Vegas in a three-team trade in July 2021 after spending the first couple of years in the league with the Philadelphia Flyers, who drafted him second overall in 2017.

Patrick only appeared in 25 games last season for Vegas, missing the majority of the year with upper-body injuries, a head injury, COVID-19 and other undisclosed injuries. According to Danny Webster of Las Vegas Sun, it is expected that Patrick will start the year on long-term injured reserve, which likely means he will miss a good chunk, if not all of the 2022-23 season.

"It's widely expected that forward Nolan Patrick ($1.2 million cap hit) will also wind up on LTIR due to an ongoing upper-body issue that has been troublesome since early last season." Webster said.

Along with Patrick, goaltender Robin Lehner and defenceman Shea Weber will also be on LTIR for the entire season. The cap relief from having those three on LTIR opens up space to sign restricted free agents Nic Hague and Jake Leschyshyn.

In the 25 games he did play this past season, Patrick put up seven points (two goals, five assists), six penalty minutes and was a plus-one.
