Pierre-Luc Dubois has accepted his qualifying offer from the Winnipeg Jets, signing a one-year, $6 million contract extension:

Dubois reportedly has no interest in signing a long-term deal with Winnipeg, and the odds of him finishing this contract in a Jets' uniform are slim. Knowing he wants out, GM Kevin Cheveldayoff will certainly be shopping the young center over the next few months.

PLD is a talented player with a history of leveraging himself to get what he wants. He first wanted out of Columbus for undisclosed reasons, and now wants out of Winnipeg for undisclosed reasons. Speculation has it that he wants to play in Montreal or New York, but nothing official has come out about that.

The Rimouski-native, picked 3rd overall in 2016, has scored 239 points in his first 361 NHL games. The Jets will be wise to move him sooner than later, and they will get a decent return for him. But for now, their team doesn't look much better than last year's.
