Patrik Laine, Columbus Blue Jackets agree to new multi-year deal
Patrik Laine is sticking around in Columbus. The Blue Jackets have re-signed the 24-year-old sniper to a four-year deal worth $34.8 million in total. That's an AAV of $8.7 million.
Laine will have some added help getting the puck in the net in 2022-23 after the Blue Jackets' blockbuster move of signing star Johnny Gaudreau to a seven-year contract in free agency. It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that we'll be seeing Laine and Johnny Hockey on the same line, likely sooner rather than later.
Laine has 327 points (176G, 151A) through 407 regular season games. He has another 16 points (8G, 8A) in 24 post season games.
