Nino Niederreiter has signed a two-year, $8 million contract ($4M AAV) with the Nashville Predators:

Niederreiter spent the last four seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes. The Swiss forward has played in 732 NHL games & managed 181g-197a-368p. Good for ~40 points every year, Niederreiter's underlying metrics are better than one might expect. He is one of the better forecheckers in the NHL, helps his team maintain offensive zone possession, scores at a decent rate per 60-minutes of ice-time:

The deal is pretty friendly for the Predators, who can field a very solid team when everyone is healthy. They've added Ryan McDonagh & G Kevin Lankinen in addition to Niederreiter, and still have $4 million to play with this summer. With G Juuse Saros, stud D Roman Josi, Filip Forsberg & the team Poile has surrounded them with, do not be surprised if they take a step forward. Although it is hard to call the Predators outright contenders right now.
