According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, the Colorado Avalanche have re-signed veteran forward Darren Helm to a one-year contract worth $1.25 million.

Helm, 35, joined the Colorado Avalanche last summer after spending parts of fourteen seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, who drafted him in the fifth round in 2005.

The St. Andrew's (Manitoba) native appeared in 68 games this season for the Avalanche where he recorded fifteen points (seven goals, eight assists), fourteen penalty minutes and was a minus-five. Helm went on to add five points (two goals, three assists) in 20 games during the playoffs, helping Colorado win their third Stanley Cup in franchise history.
