Vegas Golden Knight's forward Reilly Smith signed an extension to stay with the team for three more years. His $15 million contract will keep the 31 year old in Sin City for the foreseeable future.

Smith was one of the original "Golden Misfits" selected by the Knights during their expansion draft in 2017. That year he posted career highs in points and assists with the club. His more recent advanced statistics show that Smith is well worth his deal:

It is very likely that the Knights will have to clear additional cap space this offseason to accommodate this contract and possibly sign their restricted free agents (Keegan Kolesar, Nicolas Roy, and Nicolas Hague).

For yet another offseason, these trade rumors surround forward Max Pacioretty and his $7 million cap hit. The Knights were able to (successfully) unload Evgenii Dadonov to the Montreal Canadiens earlier this offseason.
