It seems stories of Minnesota Wild star Kirill Kaprizov's difficulty getting out of Russia have been greatly exaggerated. That's according to his agent in an interview with Sport24.ru.

""What's being hyped right now is not true," said Paul Theofanous. "He had surgery 10 days ago and there is a rehabilitation process after that. I understand he is rehabbing in Germany. It will take about two to three weeks, and then he moves to America, works out with the local doctors and gets ready for the season."

As for rumours that Kaprizov had fake military certificates that allowed him to avoid service in Russia's armed forces, Theofanous insisted everything is in order.

"He's a student, he has a military deferment, he has a certificate that allows him not to serve. He hasn't violated anything. He has no worries." he said.

Concerns were raised after several players, including Philadelphia Flyers goaltending prospect Ivan Fedotov, were arrested for allegedly holding fake exemptions for Russia's mandatory military service. It had been reported that Kaprizov may be among them.
