Naturally with their season coming to a close, the Tampa Bay Lightning revealed which players were battling through injury & the nature of those ailments. We all know that the back-to-back Stanley Cup champs were tough & battle hardened, but their injured list this time around was gnarly:

- Brayden Point suffered a 'significant' quad tear in Game 7 of the Toronto series
- Anthony Cirelli suffered an AC joint sprain that will require surgery
- Ryan McDonagh had a 'mangled' finger after blocking a shot in the NYR series
- Pierre-Édouard Bellemare battled through a meniscus injury suffered during the regular season
- Nick Paul had both an AC joint & MCL sprain
- Branden Hagel played through a foot fracture
- Corey Perry suffered an AC joint sprain
- Nikita Kucherov played with an injured meniscus

That is a lengthy list of injured players, and most of them would seriously inhibit anyone. Yet these guys were competing for the Stanley Cup against a star-studded Avalanche team. I know lots of folks are sick & tired of hearing how great the Lightning are, but this is a special group. Respect is due where respect is earned.
