Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar told reporters on Sunday morning that injured forward Nazem Kadri will travel with the team to Tampa Bay for Games 3 and 4. Bednar added that the team is hopeful he will return in the series, but couldn't confirm if it would be Game 3, Game 4 or potentially beyond, depending how the two games in Tampa Bay go.

The London (Ontario) native was hit from behind in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final by Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane. Kadri suffered an injury to his thumb and underwent surgery on June 6th. In recent days, Kadri has returned to the ice, doing some light stickhandling before practice on Friday and Saturday.

Kadri, 31, had a career year during the 2021-22 campaign, recording 87 points (28 goals, 59 assists) in 71 regular season games. He's gone on to add fourteen points (six goals, eight assists) in thirteen games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

With or without Kadri, the Avalanche will look to take a strangle hold on the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night in Tampa Bay. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. ET on CBC, Sportsnet and ABC.
