Perry's nickname is admittedly well deserved regardless of how great he is at the game of hockey. This maneuver looked like a desperate plea from a team losing 5-0 in the Stanley Cup Final. Understandably, when one's team is being laughed out of the building, they tend to search for alternative methods to shift the momentum of a series, including--I guess--trying to break someone's ankle.
