The 2022 NHL Entry Draft is just over three weeks away and scouting departments of each team around the league are preparing their lists in anticipation of choosing someone they've had their eye on all year.

One name to keep an eye on in the second round is Slovakian forward Adam Sykora, who had a strong World Championship as a seventeen year old, putting up three points (two goals, one assist) in six games.

Sykora said in an interview with Robert Durkac of Tynoviny.sk that while at the World Championship, he was invited by the Montreal Canadiens and Arizona Coyotes to participate in their own combines.

"Already during the World Cup in Finland, I received an invitation from two teams, namely Arizona and Montreal, to participate in their own Combine. I went through several interviews and special exercises in each club. I really enjoyed it," Sykora said.

The HK Nitra forward said he met with the Arizona Coyotes in Toronto and went through a medical followed by workouts the next day. He then made his way to Montreal for their combine.

He mentioned that both teams were very impressed with his play at the World Championship in Finland, in particular, the game against Canada in the prelimiary round.

"They specifically highlighted the premiere against Canada, but that my performance has gradually improved. They admitted that I made a lot of progress during the year and to continue it."

The native spent the 2021-22 season in Slovakia with HK Nitra where he put up seventeen points (ten goals, seven assists), six penalty minutes and was a plus-three in 47 regular season games. He added five points in nineteen playoff games as HK Nitra lost in the Slovak Extraliga finals.
