Evander Kane does not always get cast in the best light. He has been labeled a troublemaker, gambler, bad husband, bad teammate, and on and on. At the end of the day, he is a heck of a hockey player. Apparently, he also reaches out to youth hockey players to help more frequently than reported.

Kane reached out to a young man who was facing bouts of racism in hockey in Minnesota. The young man's mother reached out to a support group on Twitter. Kane answered the call.

Kane told the young man "It wasn't anything he was doing wrong, it wasn't bad that he was black and playing hockey, he should keep doing it, and hang in there."

In response to this article on Twitter, Kane tweeted, "Wonder why it didn't make it to the article. Anyways, always happy to help."
