Jacob Trouba has a history of administering huge hits & has injured more than one opponent in his conquest to become the NHL's most feared defenseman. His work has garnered attention from fans league-wide, and league officials have been put on notice. The long-term effects of head injuries & CTE is well-documented, and the NHL needs to prevent such injuries from befalling its players i.e. its assets.

Now I'm not here to reprimand Jacob Trouba. He plays a hard game that opposing players need be cognizant of. No problem with that. However, last night he attempted a hit on Tampa Bay F Ondrej Palat that was clearly an elbow aimed at Palat's noggin. And if it weren't for the Czech forward's shiftiness, he would probably have a concussion.

Regardless of allegiance, that was an egregious elbow attempt. One for which all parties involved are fortunate that it played out the way it did. Now while Trouba toes the line, it is not abundantly clear that he's ever overtly crossed it. Until now. Luckily, he missed so no harm done. That, however, does not absolve him from online accountability:

The internet remains, as they say, undefeated. Game 6 Saturday in Tampa. Hopefully the number of felony assaults & blatant head shot attempts sees a downward trend for Game 6.
